Hey-Hi-Hello! I’m Rishaad Ait El Moudden – perennial hoarder of unwatched DVDs, film festival enthusiast and not popcorn’s number one fan (I’ve really tried, believe me). Popcorn Scorn is a platform to host and explore my thoughts and reflections on select films. See my Letterboxd diary for concise thoughts on pretty much everything I watch.
My favourite cinematic work is from the canons of Woody Allen, Richard Linklater, Wes Anderson, Roman Polanski, Paul Thomas Anderson, the Coen Brothers, the Dardenne Brothers, Martin Scorsese, Alexander Payne, David Lynch, Mike Leigh, Éric Rohmer, Alfonso Cuarón, Terence Davies and Alfred Hitchcock. I enjoy almost all screwball comedies, courtroom dramas, psychological thrillers and movies about time travel.
I work for Scottish Opera as Trust Fundraising Manager. I’m also a Trustee of Borderline Theatre, a Committe Member of Ayr Film Society and a Steering Group Member of Dementia Friendly Prestwick. I hold a BA (Hons) in Acting for Stage and Screen from Edinburgh Napier University, and a PGCert in Arts, Festival and Cultural Management from Queen Margaret University.
