Hey-Hi-Hello! I’m Rishaad Moudden – perennial hoarder of unwatched DVDs, film festival enthusiast and not popcorn’s number one fan (I’ve really tried, believe me). Popcorn Scorn is a platform to host and explore my encompassing thoughts and reflections on select films. See my Letterboxd diary for concise thoughts on pretty much everything I watch.
My favourite cinematic work is from the canons of Woody Allen, Richard Linklater, Wes Anderson, Roman Polanski, Paul Thomas Anderson, the Coen Brothers, the Dardenne Brothers, Martin Scorsese, Alexander Payne, David Lynch, Mike Leigh, Éric Rohmer, Alfonso Cuarón, Terence Davies and Alfred Hitchcock. I enjoy almost all screwball comedies, courtroom dramas, psychological thrillers and movies about time travel.
I work for Scottish Opera as Trust Fundraising Manager. I’m also on the Board of Borderline Theatre and the Committee of Ayr Film Society. I hold a BA (Hons) in Acting for Stage and Screen from Edinburgh Napier University, and a PGCert in Arts, Festival and Cultural Management from Queen Margaret University.
